Acuren Inspection is seeking an Operations Manager to lead both the operational delivery and sales growth of our services within a specific regional or geographical location. This role is critical to planning, delivering, and promoting technical services that meet client needs while complying with safety, quality, and financial goals. The Operations Manager will provide strategic solutions to clients that enhance Acuren's position as a trusted business partner, reduce their operating costs, and drive new business opportunities throughout the region. THIS WILL BE AN ONSITE POSITION IN DAVENPORT, IA.

 

 

The Operations Manager serves as the essential liaison between the customer and the company and is a key member of the management team. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, business development, and operational delivery within his/her service area. This position requires a balanced focus on generating new revenue through proactive sales efforts and ensuring the efficient, profitable, and compliant execution of services on the ground.

Responsibilities

Operational Delivery & Resource Management

  • Oversee the efficient and profitable delivery of technical services within the assigned geographic or technical service area.
  • Hire, retain, and manage the performance of staff who possess the necessary technical and safety qualifications to perform available work.
  • Appropriately schedule manpower and ensure consumable, equipment, and fleet resources are available, maintained in good condition, and regularly audited.
  • Perform regular site visits to engage technical staff in the field and ensure projects are on schedule and within scope.
  • Ensure compliance with company-specific safety and quality programs and the appropriate use of procedures and administrative controls.
  • Approve technical training recommendations and ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place to support ongoing service improvements.
  • Provide oversight to administrative functions to ensure accurate and efficient completion of operational tasks.
  • Effectively manage resources including facilities, vehicles, and equipment to ensure safe, secure, cost-effective, and reliable use.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute well-understood growth programs, identify new technologies and service lines, and promote collaboration throughout the region.
  • Manage and execute all selling and growth objectives, including developing new clients, executing specific client opportunities, and preparing winning bids.
  • Collaborate with other Acuren leaders to build and develop client relationships based on exceptional service and ethical business practices.
  • Engage productively with existing and prospective clients to expand regional service offerings and demonstrate innovative technology to customers.
  • Actively participate in and/or lead initiatives related to targeted accounts, services, and vertical markets, including stewardship meetings with clients.
  • Maintain active pipeline management and location-by-location operating and growth plans.
  • Ensure all contracts contain appropriate terms and conditions conforming to minimum requirements as specified by Acuren's Counsel or designated risk management staff; negotiate with clients as required.

Financial Management

  • Provide ongoing oversight and analysis of monthly financial reports and monthly billable time reports, making necessary adjustments.
  • Review and approve operational expenses, DTRs, and expense submissions.
  • Participate in the development of operational and capital budgets.
  • Prepare price estimates for complex and detailed work packages.
  • Define limits of authority with staff to ensure wise decisions are made with respect to company resources.

Service Excellence & Client Management

  • Utilize site-specific metrics to improve productivity and enhance customer service.
  • Seek clarification of client expectations, clearly define work scopes, monitor project execution, and verify customer satisfaction.
  • Support major account management using CRM models, develop new client opportunities, and address client concerns proactively.
  • Improve the value of services offered and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5 + years of experience in mechanical contractors, power generation, refineries, food processing plants, and field service.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, and business development with technical service company
  • Minimum of 5 years of operational experience in an industrial/technical environment, 3 years of which is supervisory.
  • Prior knowledge and experience with organizations focused on large industrial clients.
  • Demonstrated success in technical, solutions-oriented sales directed to engineering and operating managers in large industrial companies.
  • Experience with sales methodologies applicable to a wide range of customers from enterprise level through small and medium businesses.
  • Experience managing effective utilization of CRM or related sales systems.
  • Strong managerial skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to manage difficult customer interactions.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Evidence of a hands-on leadership orientation in a performance-driven work setting.
  • Consistently demonstrates understanding of, and compliance with, responsibilities under Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and Acuren Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to travel minimum of 25% of the time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs with strong Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.

Education & Certifications:

  • Relevant NDT technical field is preferred.
  • API certifications (510, 570, 653) and Basic NDT (RT, MT, PT, UT) methods certifications are preferred.
