Position Summary
Acuren is recruiting for a Proposal Manager for our Tomball, TX location. The position is responsible to manage the lifecyle of these projects and contribute to the written and visual content as well as coordinate the development, administration, and successful delivery of commercial proposals that showcase Acuren’s value proposition and technical capabilities in accordance with strategic and financial objectives, and organizational policies and standards. It is also responsible for the development, management and distribution of proposal content.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the business proposal/bid process by:
- Developing expressions of interest, pre-qualifications and proposals in accordance with the designated proposal process
- Developing and coordinating proposal management tools, including a responsibility matrix defining deliverables and assignments, proposal schedules, strategy tools such as a SWOT, and technical writing and style guides
- Ensuring appropriate corporate and regional collaboration in support of high quality, timely, responsive and cost-effective bids that capture the key business themes
- Lead the assignment of key resources from functional departments to the proposal development process and efficiently manage the collection of information from the team
- Ensure final submissions meet high standards of quality and accuracy and have been approved by the appropriate stakeholders
2. Supports successful bidding strategy by:
- Maintaining strong business intelligence in collaboration with sales, commercial and management team
- Preparing for, attending, and actively participating in client presentations, commercially confidential meetings, and any necessary project related and client interface meetings
- Collaborating with Project Managers & bid teams to draw together coherent win themes and formulate strong proposals and strategic pricing
- Providing timely responses to requests for assistance
- Sharing technical, commercial and contractual expertise with Acuren team members to ensure bid preparation is conducted in an efficient manner
3. Ensures continuous improvement of proposal development processes by:
- Working closely with proposal development team to ensure unique client requirements are met
- Continuously monitoring and communicating best practices applicable to proposal development
- Implementing document control and quality management processes
- Leading the development of pre-qualifications and other Pre-RFQ documentation
- Builds and maintains a central content library by:
- Extracting segments of past proposal material that can be used in future proposals
- Creating useful written segments or visual aids to be used across the organization to be stored in the library
- Ensuring relevant content created in other work groups or departments is obtained and indexed within this library
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to conceptualize and create material for future use in proposals and sales material
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, construction management or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of proposal development experience within an industrial or construction environment
- APMP Certification would be considered an asset
- Experience in strategic pricing, estimating, forecasting, change management, and risk analysis;
- Demonstrated successful end to end management of proposals within construction/industrial sector;
- Familiarity with procurement portals such as SAP ARIBA, Jaggaer, Workday, GEP, etc. is considered an asset
- Commercially aware and conversant with all common contracting strategies; able to think logically and creatively when discussing and formulating proposal strategy
- Detail orientation with a successful track record of overseeing multiple priorities concurrently and within tight deadlines
- Excellent written communication skills with specific attention to detail and content accuracy
- Ability to prepare and present clear and concise oral and written reports and presentations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Service and results-orientation, with the ability to build trust with a broad network of professional colleagues and team members
