Position Summary

As a Piping ISO Field Sketcher, you will be responsible for creating detailed sketches of piping systems in the field for the purpose of creating isometric drawings (ISO). Your work will assist engineers and inspectors in capturing accurate field conditions and contributing to the development of an inspection program to monitor corrosion and other changing conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field measurements (estimations)
  • Create detailed and accurate piping isometric sketches based on field observations.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering and inspection team to ensure all sketches align with referencing documentation.
  • Document and update any changes or modifications to piping systems in the field.
  • Review drawings and sketches for compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Ensure field sketches are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide updates on sketching progress.

Other work duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • TWIC Card Required.
  • Proven experience as a Piping ISO Field Sketcher, Piping Designer, or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting Piping Isometrics, P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and general engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations is a plus.

 

EDUCATION: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Technical degree or certification in drafting, piping design, or a related field (Preferred).
  • 2-4 years experience or combination of experience and education.
  • CAD experience is a plus

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in field environments, including exposure to various weather conditions and site conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools up to15 pounds as needed for field inspections.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or climb for extended periods during field visits.
