Position Summary

Acuren is hiring a Senior Engineering Associate in its Advanced Engineering group to execute engineering-based tasks associated with solid mechanics, finite element analysis, statistics, inspections, and full-scale testing.

Responsibilities

  • As individual contributor, perform stress/strain calculations, fracture mechanics calculations, fatigue assessments, and data processing on a project-by-project basis.
  • Build, analyze, and review finite element models to simulate static and dynamic solid mechanics problems.
  • Write detailed engineering reports documenting analysis and testing workflows, methods, and results.
  • Provide rigorous technical oversight for engineering analysis and technical reports produced by other engineers and external contractors on a wide variety of engineering projects.
  • Routinely work on cross-discipline mechanical integrity projects that span engineering analysis, mechanical testing, and inspections.
  • Routinely interface with test engineers for developing test plans and procedures and assist with managing testing programs and test execution.
  • Maintain an understanding of applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, as required.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related engineering fields.
  • 6+ years experience in upstream, midstream, or downstream engineering functions.
  • Strong foundation in solid mechanics, finite element methods, and fracture mechanics.
  • Strong understanding of the practical application of statistics for processing integrity management calculations and data.
  • Excellent working knowledge of API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, Fitness-For-Service code requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Abaqus and/or Ansys (or equivalent finite element code).
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and results.
