Century Inspection is currently recruiting an Industrial Trade Services Auditor. This position will complete onsite audits and associated pre-audit and post-audit work in the following special industrial process areas: coating applications, welding process, mechanical insulation & abatement operations, possibly others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality oversite for industrial trade services by providing quality and safety audits of field operations. This includes review of and procedure adherence standards and procedural review.
  • Development and review of quality procedures for deficiency and advise best practices.
  • Provide mentoring and technical direction to project quality and personnel as required regarding specific quality procedures.
  • Actively monitor work practices to identify hazards and advise on correct safety procedures.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Supervisors and employees to manage the QA/QC requirements of special projects.
  • Review project quality documentation to meet requirements of quality management system, governing standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct periodic employee quality training.
  • Prepare for lead client and third-party facility audits.
  • Interface with clients on technical and quality issues, participate in pre-job planning, post job review, and obtain feedback on quality and safety performance for use in improving programs
  • Maintain quality records and safety records and prepare monthly reports.
  • Maintain employee trade certification records
  • Participate in the recommendation and selection of new equipment.
  • Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.
  • Other work duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of welding, coatings, insulation or multi-disciplined experience (e.g. structural, mechanical & piping).
  • Procedure auditing experience required.
  • Industrial fiberglass knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Rope Access experience is a plus
  • Adaptable to changing schedules with the willingness to travel, including overnight travel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of organizational proficiency.
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic, energized team player.
  • Strong work ethic, dependable, capable of working independently

 

EDUCATION:

  • 5+ years industrial experience required.
  • 2+ years QA/QC or HSE experience required.
  • 2+ years industrial fabrication and/or repair experience required.
  • NACE certified preferred.
  • Asbestos Abatement certified preferred.
  • Lead Abatement certified preferred.

Working Conditions

Outside environment conditions, in and near hazards to include proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding and high places in excess of 100 feet, confined space and small areas, exposure to high heat, extreme cold, loud noise, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
Driving and travel by plane will be required.

 

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS:

  • Able to perform work such as climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, etc.
  • Able to perform in extreme cold and extreme heat environmental conditions,
  • Able to perform work at heights above 100ft.
  • Able to perform work in small, enclosed quarters and confined space.
  • Ability to work long hours up to 16 hours per day as needed.
  • Ability to work in noisy or hazardous environments using personal protection.
